2025 Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony
Description
Over the past few years, Sylvania's Memorial Day Celebration has become one of the largest and best attended in Northwest Ohio. On behalf of the Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce, local Veterans groups, and the City of Sylvania, we would like to invite you to be a part of this year's Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony which will be held on Monday, May 26th, 2025.
The parade will step off on Main Street from Saint Joseph’s Parish - East Parking Lot and will pass by Downtown Sylvania as it heads to Veterans Memorial Park. A full parade route will be shared in the upcoming weeks.
A brief memorial service will be held at Toledo Memorial Park (6382 Monroe Street) at 9:00 AM to honor the over 14,000 Veterans who are laid to rest there.
We then invite everyone to attend the Memorial Day Ceremony, which will begin at 11:00 A.M. at the conclusion of the parade at Veterans Memorial Park, with City of Sylvania Mayor Mark Frye serving as Master of Ceremonies.
Memorial Day Parade Rules and Guidelines
If participants are unable to abide by the parade rules and guidelines, they may be removed from the parade.

Memorial Day Parade Rules and Guidelines
- Candy or like items are not allowed to be thrown/passed out during the parade. This is strictly enforced and any violators will be escorted out of the parade and will not be permitted to attend any future parades. This is to ensure the safety of all parade participants and spectators - thank you for understanding!
- Parade will launch Monday, May 26, 2025 at 10:00 AM.
- Parade staging will begin at 9:00 AM at Saint Joseph's Parish - East Parking Lot
- Late arrival could result in placement at the back of the parade line
- All participants must have a patriotic theme to their unit or float; campaigning is not permitted
- Any entry considering use of live animals must provide clean up service for all waste created by animals
- Once the parade starts, there will be no entering or exiting a parade vehicle
- Don't forget your entertainment element!
