Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Experienced Gardener to assist our Head Gardener maintain the beautiful grounds of Toledo Memorial Park & Mausoleum. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in landscaping and horticulture, with a keen eye for detail and a deep respect for the peaceful nature of a cemetery environment. As an Experienced Gardener, you will play a vital role in ensuring our grounds remain impeccably maintained, offering a serene and dignified setting for families. Key Responsibilities: • Perform general grounds maintenance including trimming, edging, weeding, and pruning. • Plant, maintain, and care for flowers, shrubs, and other plants in a variety of garden beds and memorial areas. • Assist with seasonal landscaping projects, ensuring that the grounds look beautiful throughout the year. • Maintain and operate landscaping tools and equipment safely and effectively. • Monitor and maintain irrigation systems, ensuring proper water distribution across the grounds. • Collaborate with the team to ensure all areas are maintained to the highest standards of beauty and cleanliness. • Assist with general cleanup tasks such as debris removal and leaf clearing. • Provide input on new landscaping designs or improvements and support implementation. • Work closely with cemetery management to ensure the needs of families and visitors are met in a respectful and professional manner. Qualifications: • Minimum of 2 years of experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance, with a strong focus on horticulture. • Ability to identify and care for a wide range of plants, flowers, and trees. • Proficiency in operating landscaping tools and equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers. • Strong work ethic with attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, following instructions and taking initiative. • Knowledge of irrigation systems and seasonal plant care is a plus. • Physical stamina to perform outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions. • A compassionate and respectful approach to working in a cemetery environment, understanding the sensitive nature of the work.
