Key Responsibilities: This position will work in conjunction with our Head Gardener to do the following • Assist our Head gardener with creating a beautiful and serene environment by planting, maintaining, and caring for flowers, shrubs, and other plants in a variety of garden beds and memorial areas. • Perform general grounds maintenance including trimming, edging, weeding, and pruning. • Assist with seasonal landscaping projects, ensuring that the grounds look beautiful throughout the year. • Maintain and operate landscaping tools and equipment safely and effectively. • Monitor and maintain irrigation systems, ensuring proper water distribution across the grounds. • Collaborate with the team to ensure all areas are maintained to the highest standards of beauty and cleanliness. • Assist with general cleanup tasks such as debris removal and leaf clearing. • Provide input on new landscaping designs or improvements and support implementation. • Work closely with cemetery management to ensure the needs of families and visitors are met in a respectful and professional manner. Qualifications: • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with outdoor plants, flowers and trees • Ability to identify and care for a wide range of plants, flowers, and trees • Proficiency in operating landscaping tools and equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers. • Strong work ethic with attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, following instructions and taking initiative. • Knowledge of irrigation systems and seasonal plant care is a plus. • Physical stamina to perform outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions. • A compassionate and respectful approach to working in a cemetery environment, understanding the sensitive nature of the work. • High school diploma or GED required • Ability to lift 50 lbs What We Offer: • Health benefits (for full-time employees) • 401k plus company contribution • Medical reimbursements • Vacation, sick and personal time off, 10 paid holidays • A peaceful and respectful work environment with a dedicated team.
