Senior Center Driver
POSITION OVERVIEW Responsible for the safe and timely transporting of participants to and from the Senor Center and its programs. Ensures the vehicle is fueled and ready for use. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Scheduled transportation of older adults to and from their homes to the senior center and to stores for group grocery trips. Driving for leisure or special event trips in coordination with Program and Special Events Staff. Daily paperwork and record keeping- required by Area Office on Aging, passenger records and daily and monthly mileage reports. Perform daily inspection of vehicle and record findings. Uses Senior Center Credit Card to make fuel and vehicle repair purchases. Coordination and completion of annual vehicle licensures and inspections. Report maintenance needs to Senior Center Director and coordinate completion of repairs. Miscellaneous duties as assigned. Perform all duties within the framework of the policies, procedures and guidelines of Sylvania Community Services. EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS Valid driver’s license and valid CDL class C license for operating a vehicle transporting 16 or more passengers, including the driver. Good driving record and ability to meet the criteria of SCS Insurance coverage. Capable of assisting passengers with wheelchairs and other accessibility equipment. Capable of proper wheelchair lift. Able to lift 50 lbs. Pass physical examination, FBI/BCI background check, drug screen, and all AOoA data base checks. Writing and record keeping ability Must be able to successful complete and Passenger Assistance Training (D.R.I.V.E.), Defensive Driving Training, American Red Cross trainings, and all other trainings required by AOoA.
